On April 22, 2015, Kori May was killed in a car accident when she was struck by a truck driver. She was only 24 years old.
Her life was starting to take off. A year and half earlier she graduated from Oregon State University. She recently got engaged. She completed a coveted plant science internship at Walt Disney World and started her first professional job in the field.
Born November 25, 1990 in Phoenix, Arizona, Kori graduated with honors from Pleasant Grove High School, in Pleasant Grove, Utah in 2009 and attended Oregon State University where she earned a B.S. degree in Botany and Plant Pathology with a minor in Horticulture in 2013. Kori received several scholarships including the Merrill Family Foundation Scholarship, which recognizes outstanding academic achievement as an undergraduate in the Colleges of Science/Agricultural Sciences.
Kori worked very hard for everything she had, including putting herself through college. Every scholarship she received meant so much to her, which is why the Kori May Memorial Scholarship Fund was created. The scholarship fund will support a strong botany student at OSU demonstrating financial need - much like Kori.
Our goal is to endow this scholarship, and we’re almost there. Please consider making a gift to the Kori May Memorial Scholarship Fund, and ensure Kori’s memory lives on through impacting deserving students for generations to come.
