Support Student Success This Giving Tuesday
Join us on #GivingTuesday as Beaver Nation shows support for new and current OSU students.
We are working to raise the first-year rate of retention of all students to 90 percent, raise the six-year graduation rate to 70 percent, and equalize success for students from every background.
It isn’t that hard to make a tangible difference – and sometimes a life-changing difference. Sometimes a few hundred dollars is all it takes to help a student reach the graduation finish line.
Join us with a gift toward Student Success on #GivingTuesday! Contributions of any size are deeply appreciated.

We are committed to the success of all our students – on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 – and every day. Below are our three focus areas. Your ongoing engagement and generosity are essential to these efforts. With your participation, all students will find success at Oregon State University.
- The transition experience. We must better support students’ transition into OSU, whether from high school, community college or as an older adult. We also must build a culture that fosters deeper relationships between students and faculty, with an emphasis on mentoring.
- Financial aid and scholarships. Financial barriers are the number two reason why students don’t get an OSU degree – why they don’t come here and why they don’t graduate. 80% say they’re not willing to go further into debt. 61% say they have insufficient financial aid to continue.
- Experiential learning and research. Whether it’s studying abroad, participating in undergraduate research, or holding an internship, students who participate in one or more outside of the classroom learning opportunity have higher graduation rates and greater success overall, but many of our students aren’t able to afford these extracurricular experiences, or take time away from their part-time jobs.
