We are happy to announce we have reached our first milestone for our Oregon State Women's Rowing crowd funding effort. Earlier today, we surged past $6,000 and now sit at $7,510. We are extremely thankful and so is Judy Kitzman, the namesake of the shell we are looking to purchase.

"I am so honored that Oregon State University Women's Rowing is purchasing an eight-oared women's racing shell for the 2015-2016 racing season --- and naming it the "Judy Kitzman." I am blown out of the water, so to speak, that an anonymous donor is kicking off the fundraising campaign with a $25,000 gift. The very least I can do is help in the fundraising effort to help purchase Pocock Hypercarbon Comp 8 racing shell, considered the company's top of the line boat." – Judy Kitzman

A huge thank you to all of you who stepped up to help us reach our first milestone of $6k in the first week!  It is wonderful to see so many alumni, parents, friends, etc., donating to this very special project.  We are entering the ever important “middle of the race,” so we need everyone to hunker down and do some tough work to keep moving this needle forward.  We had a great first 500 – let’s keep the momentum going and put ourselves in position to win this race! The next goal is getting to the halfway mark ($12,500) by MONDAY!

Great news, Beaver Rowing fans – we hit our halfway goal of $12,500 yesterday evening thanks to your amazing and generous efforts.  The outpour of support for this project has been nothing short of awesome, so thank you to everyone who has gotten us this far.  We are in a strong position going into the second half of this race, but you all know how critical the 3rd 500 is.  The next goal is $20K by this Sunday!  If you haven’t donated yet, please do so today.  For some extra incentive this week, we have the following offers:

First, and foremost, thank you. Your love for the sport of rowing, for our program and for those that make up our program is the reason we not only reached our $25k goal, but exceeded it with three days remaining in the campaign. To date, we have raised $26,475 and that inspiring number is all because of you.

In all, 139 donations came through our crowd funding site, which shows that, like rowing, this was definitely a team effort. Gifts came from former rowers, family members of current and former rowers, and friends of the program as well as those who may not be directly affiliated with our program but know someone who is or was at some point in their lives.

The success of this campaign, coupled with the generous match gift, will make our goal of purchasing the top-of-line Hypercarbon Comp women’s racing eight a reality, and also allows us to honor Judy Kitzman in a way that she most definitely deserves.

We will communicate to you details regarding the Orange & Black Regatta in November so you can witness the unveiling of the boat that will bear Judy’s name.
